Kuwait City, Middle East

Kuwait, one of the smallest and wealthiest countries on the planet. With extensive oilfields under tremendous pressure, this is a country with energy reserves like no other. Archena Media traveled throughout Kuwait, accessed via Saudi Arabia along the east coast of the Gulf. While onsite the Archean team was able to collect incredible oil and gas photography in the northern fields. Very few photographers have had access to photograph in this unique and powerful country.

With a population of approximately four million, Kuwait is still growing and modernizing their economy. The scars from the 1991 Gulf War and the massive fire damaged caused by Iraq troops when they set fire to nearly 700 high pressure oil wells. While the environmental stain is still viable from space, the government has taken strides to repair and restore the fields to their previous glory.
